The
Weber Compact for Learning
Committee
In 1994, The New York State Education Department called upon
all school districts to establish "Compact for Learning" committees
at each school within a district. The
purpose of the Compact Committee is to allow for local site-based planning and
shared decision-making around such issues as budgets, school climate, cultural
arts, homework, building & facilities, and home & school
communication. This is to be accomplished
by a combined group of faculty, administrators, and parents. Weber's 10 member
Compact Committee consists of Weber’s principal, four teachers, one support
staff member, and four parents. Three of
these parents are volunteers from our Weber parent body. The Executive Board of the Weber HSA represents
the fourth parent position.
The Compact Committee meets once a month usually after
school in the Weber Principal’s Office, on a weekday schedule determined at the
beginning of the school year. Parent members are expected to give reports at
HSA meetings and provide notes for inclusion in the Weber Bulletin Board
newsletter.
The Compact Committee parent representatives for the current
school year are:
Lisa Epstein, Lisa Marschall, Paula Waskover, and Emily
Beys.
